๐ What is a Topical Entry?
A topical entry is basically a word, phrase, place, or person that is being studied to see which category (or domain) it belongs to. Think of it like a dictionary word ๐ or a Wikipedia entry ๐.
๐ How Does It Work?
-
Each topic (entry) is checked for words from different domain lists ๐.
Example: If the topic is โArtificial Intelligenceโ, we check how many words from the Technology domain list appear in it. -
Words from different domain lists are counted ๐ข.
Example: If "AI" appears 24 times in the Technology domain ๐ฅ๏ธ, and "AI" appears 5 times in the Business domain ๐ผ, these numbers are recorded. -
A macro-context vector is created ๐.
This is like a scorecard ๐ that tells us which domain the topic is most related to.
Example: If "AI" has 105 counts in Technology and only 5 counts in Business, we say that "AI" belongs mostly to Technology. -
This helps categorize topics for search engines, encyclopedias, and AI systems ๐ค.
When someone searches for a topic, the system can match it with related domains and show the best results.
๐ก Why Is This Useful?
- โ๏ธ Helps organize huge amounts of information ๐.
- โ๏ธ Improves search results by understanding what the user is looking for ๐.
- โ๏ธ Makes AI systems smarter in recognizing topics and their categories ๐ค.
๐ฏ Simple Analogy
Imagine you are sorting books ๐ in a library:
- You check each book and see how many words inside it relate to Technology, History, or Science.
- If a book has 100 tech words but only 5 history words, it goes in the Technology section!
