📊 Term-weight Calculation
Term-weight calculation determines the significance of a term within a document or across a collection of documents.
A common method is TF-IDF (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency), which assigns a weight to a term by:
- Term Frequency (TF): Measuring how often the term appears in a document.
- Inverse Document Frequency (IDF): Calculating the rarity of the term across the entire document collection.
By multiplying TF by IDF, TF-IDF highlights terms that are important within a document but not overly common across all documents.
